It originated from South Africa

The word Biltong is Dutch for bil=buttock and tong=strip

Typical ingredients are salt, pepper, coriander and vinegar

It can be made from most meats including beef, venison and chicken

It can be munched on if you are between the ages of 1-120

It can be guzzled down while relaxing in front of the television

It can be eaten in front of your pets, but they will get jealous

It can be shared with your friends, but they will never leave

It can be passed over the fence to your neighbours

It can be dished out among your work colleagues

It can be used as fishing bait, but that’s a waste

It can go to school as an easy lunch for the kids

It generally is a great travelling companion

It can be chomped at all sporting events

It makes a fantastic midnight snack

It compliments a salad or a pizza
